Extracurricular Activities
In addition to a well-rounded curriculum, Rothenberg is fortunate to have a wide variety of enrichment and after-school activities held onsite for students. Boys/Girl Scouts of America
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America are two of our nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The organizations provide programs for young people that build character, train them in the responsibilities of participating in citizenship and developing personal fitness. Rothenberg Dance Team
The Dance Team is open to students in grades 4-6.
Fitness Fun
Students engage in structured physical activities and exercises for 30 minutes daily. These activities allow for students to be active and mobile for a fun physical experience. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)
GEMS (Girls Empowered, Motivated and Successful)
GEMS is an after-school group for girls in grades 4-6 that is designed to strategically support and promote measurable improvements in academic achievement, promotion rates, graduation rates, and college readiness, with an emphasis on developing a strong character. The group covers Academic Support, Social Skills Development, College & Career Awareness, Financial Literacy, and Health & Wellness.
Girls Writing Circle
Inspires, supports and encourages writers at every stage and age. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)
Hip Hop Dance
Students participate in hip-hop dance lessons that encourage and require physical activity and coordination. Literacy awareness is incorporated into the lessons. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)
Men Organized Respectful and Educated (M.O.R.E.)
M.O.R.E. is an after-school group for boys in grades 4-6 that is designed to strategically support and promote measurable improvements in academic achievement, promotion rates, graduation rates, and college readiness, with an emphasis on developing a strong character. The content of M.O.R.E. consists of Academic Support, Social Skills Development, College & Career Awareness, Financial Literacy, and Health & Wellness.
MORTAR Remix Club
This after-school Student Enterprise club focuses on entrepreneurship skill development. It is open to students in grades 5 and 6.
Power Hour
Students engage in 60 minutes of Literacy tutoring on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Students engage in 60 minutes of Math tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday. Curriculum is provided by the English Literacy Specialist. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)
Skool-Aid
Students engage in a wide variety of programming activities which includes music, fitness, creative arts and drama. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)
Student Council
Rothenberg's Student Council teaches students leadership skills. It is open to grades 3-6.
Social-Emotional Support
Students participate in activities, such as DESSA assessments, Second Step, peer mediation, and character building to support their social-emotional and well-being. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)
Visual Arts
Students participate in arts education activities that explore creative expression and the development of fine motor skills and visual perception. Students also engage in computer classes, arts and crafts, academic enrichment activities, Fun Friday (a day of fun and games after the academic hours), service learning, gym and a seasonal choir class. (Provided by Imani Family Center.)

Intramural Basketball
Rothenberg has intramural basketball teams for students in grades 5 and 6.
